Medical-Grade Ozone Therapy · Alexandria, VA
Your body is remarkably good at healing when we give it the right support. At Green Dentistry, Dr. Park uses medical-grade ozone as part of a biological approach designed to reduce harmful bacteria and help your body recover comfortably after treatment.
What It Is
Ozone sounds high-tech, but it is simply oxygen in an activated form. Think of it as oxygen with a little extra energy, the same gentle helper your body already relies on every day.
In dentistry, medical-grade ozone has been used for many years as a natural way to disinfect. We can deliver it as a gas, in ozonated water, or in an oil, depending on what each situation calls for.
Because it works with your body rather than against it, ozone has become one of the most versatile tools in biological dentistry. It lets us care for your mouth thoughtfully, with fewer chemicals along the way.

How We Use It
Ozone is rarely the whole treatment. More often, it is the quiet step that makes the rest of your care gentler and more thorough. Dr. Park may use it in several ways:
Disinfecting before restorations. Cleaning a tooth with ozone before placing a filling is designed to reduce the bacteria left behind, supporting a healthier foundation for the restoration.
Supporting gum health. Ozonated water can be used to flush gum pockets and help reduce the bacteria associated with inflammation and bleeding gums.
Comfortable healing. After an extraction or other procedure, ozone may be used to disinfect the area and support your body's natural recovery.
The Benefits
A gentler path does not mean a less effective one. For many people, ozone is part of what makes care here feel calmer and more whole-body minded.
Ozone is made from oxygen, so it can help reduce harmful bacteria with fewer added chemicals.
It is designed to target bacteria, viruses, and fungi while being kind to the healthy tissue around them.
By disinfecting treatment sites, ozone may support your body's own ability to recover comfortably.
For some situations, a biological approach with ozone may reduce the need for broad-spectrum antibiotics.
It reflects our belief that what we put in your mouth, and leave out of it, matters for the rest of you.
Ozone is one part of a calm, unhurried visit designed around how you actually feel in the chair.
Is It Right for You?
Many patients are a good fit for ozone-supported care. It may be worth a conversation if you:
• Prefer a natural, holistic approach to your dental care
• Live with gum inflammation, bleeding, or sensitivity
• Are recovering from a procedure or infection
• Would rather lean on gentler options than chemicals when possible
• Care about how your oral health connects to your whole body
Even if ozone therapy is new to you, it may be a helpful piece of a more thoughtful, whole-body plan. The best place to start is a comprehensive new patient exam, where Dr. Park can talk through what makes sense for you.

"I was looking for a good biological dentist and found Green Dental. Very nice staff and a calming environment. They saved me from the average nonbiological dentistries that merely fix the symptoms instead of giving you long-lasting healthy processes and education."
